After graduating, Rusdy bin Ishak (“Rusdy”) served his pupillage in Messrs. Lim & Yeoh in 2000, where he demonstrated a penchant for civil litigation. He then immediately practised in the area of civil and criminal litigation with Messrs. Kamarudin & Partners where he was placed in charge of the civil litigation department. Rusdy re-joined Messrs. Lim & Yeoh in 2002 and headed the litigation department, and was promoted to be a partner in the said firm in the following year. He specialised in the areas of corporate and commercial litigation. This encompassed a broad spectrum of areas covering various industries related with developer companies, banks, trustees, insurance companies, property managers and many more. After serving Messrs. Lim & Yeoh for 19 years, Rusdy joined WCO in 2021.
Rusdy has handled cases involving contractual disputes, debt recovery and insolvency, fraudulent land transaction, defamation, tenancy, trespass, land acquisition and joint-venture disputes. He has represented a broad range of clients in all tiers of the Malaysian courts. Rusdy has several reported cases under his belt including a Federal Court ruling on joint-venture agreement to develop land for profit which contributed to the development of land law in Malaysia concerning caveatable interests. Rusdy also currently sits on the board of directors of Tashin Holdings Berhad, a listed company in Bursa Malaysia. Rusdy heads the General & Banking Litigation Unit.
